Plot: When Daphne becomes the star of a vampire film, the production is thrown into chaos by a real vampire, forcing the Scooby-Doo team to investigate who's behind this monstrous mayhem. Full summary » |  »

Story: After being tired of always monster hunting, the gang decides to go on a vacation free of any spooky stuff and hopefully mysteries. They go to the Little Bat village for the Vampire Festival and for the author of some Vampire books Velma enjoys. The author ends up being the oldest living Van Helsing relative and isn't well off financially. He shows the gang around his vampire museum which contains the oldest 'living' vampire Valdronya; who is encased in a coffin with a 6" thick glass lid. After-wards the gang goes to see a performance by a group of actors that believe themselves to be real vampires and live as such; they accidentally awaken Valdronya during their show with a mystic chant. Now there is a real live vampire running amok and what's worse is he wants Daphne to be his vampire bride. This movie is in a musical style. Written byExodus

Scooby Doo! Music of the Vampire (2011) Review by TheLittleSongbird from United Kingdom

As a big Scooby Doo fan, I enjoyed Scooby Doo and the Music of theVampire. Of the Scooby animated movies, I do prefer Witch's Ghost,Zombie Island and Goblin King, and this is perhaps my least favouriteof the movies to use the Mystery Incorporated-like animation style. However I still enjoyed it, I liked the animation style which was likea combination of the classic Scooby Doo and the What's New Scooby Doostyle, and while it takes some time to get going the story wasinteresting with an ending that was a lot of fun if not entirelyunexpected as I knew who it was halfway through.

The dialogue is witty, and the voice work is absolutely great, withonly a little too squealy Mindy Kohn disappointing(slightly). FrankWelker is terrific as always, Matthew Lillard had big shoes to fill anddoes admirably being very goofy and likable and Jeff Bennett is bothmenacing and makes us feel sympathy for him. Valdronya is a veryconvincing villain, with an imposing look and a Dracula/Maldor theMalevolent-like voice that gives the chills. Now to the stuff that Iwasn't so crazy about, apart from Mindy Kohn and some of the storytaking time to get going.

I personally think the film could've been shorter, with a couple ofscenes that could've been either shortened or cut I wouldn't have feltthat the pacing was a little uneven with a couple of parts in themiddle dragging. The songs I was mixed on; the best were Done WithMonsters, which was clever and very spirited vocally, Scooby and Me,which was hilarious and Do You Want to Live Forever, especially for thedancing. The rest were forgettable, Valdronya Returns had a strong hintof deja vu almost as if it was trying too hard to be another villainsong(can't quite put my finger on which) and I can't remember any ofVampire's Bite and Vampire's Dance, and didn't move forward the storymuch.

Overall, a decent film and an interesting enough change of pace, but Ihave seen better from Scooby. 7/10 Bethany Cox

Scooby Doo! Music of the Vampire (2011) Review by ApolloBoy109 from United States

This is so wrong. Anyone over five who says this is good is wrong.

For serious fans of the Scoob (me from 1969 to present day) there aretoo many travesties afoot in this piece of trash cheaply made andshoved down the throats of innocent fans to enjoy it. I knew from thebeginning , when no Guest Voice appeared in the credits, this would notbe a good ride.

Horrible. A Crime. A Scooby-Doo Musical? The gang breaking into aZombie song? Poor animation. The first five minutes was a blatantrip-off from the first five minutes of Disney's Aladdin. They even hada "lamp"!

The theme is a rip-off of "Twilight" with Daph as Bella. What did theydo Tom Sheppard's original script that made him remove his name? He isthe writer in the credits. This is the dude who wrote for Pinky and theBrain, so we know he did his job. So what did they do?

I got a new title for a Scooby-Doo movie: What did the Studio heads doto Scooby-Doo?

Pass it by!

Scooby Doo! Music of the Vampire (2011) Review by miliosfamishi

Hahaha! For the first musical Scooby Doo adventure, it is a fun romp! The first song, Done with Monsters, is a perfect mix and definitelysomething you would expect from Shaggy. It is amazing how Frank Welkerstill manages to sound like a teenager (Fred), even as he is singing.Mindy Cohn makes Velma have too much of a squealer voice, though. Theother notable song, Scooby and Me, is definitely hilarious andentertaining. I love to just pop the DVD in and watch the just thesongs again. In terms of plot, pretty interesting, although I feltsorry for van Helsing, who was just trying to get by. The graphics aregood, loving the new cartoon style, mix of new and old. Pretty good fora boring Sunday afternoon. 8/10 stars.
